GPMBA 'AA' Tryouts

Grande Prairie County Sportsplex in the field house.

OPEN DROP IN FIELD TIME - PREP FOR TRYOUTS

GPMBA is offering Drop in times to AA players prior to tryouts as an opportunity for athletes to throw a ball and take some swings before jumping into tryouts.

Pre -Tryout Drop In times open to all players who ARE REGISTERED FOR AA TRYOUTS

 

Saturday March 17th - 4-6 pm

Sunday March 18th - 6-8pm

 

There will be a $10 drop in fee for each session a player chooses to attend

Players MUST BE REGISTERED for AA Tryouts prior to attending drop in times.

 

Mosquito AA

Tryouts

Practices (once teams selected)

Tuesday March 20 - 5:00pm-7:00pm

Thursday, March 22 - 6:30pm - 7:30pm

Tuesday March 27  - 5:00pm - 7:00pm

 

Players should plan to attend 3rd tryout date, however should be aware that it may not be needed.

 

 

First Weekend of Play is: 

 

Peewee AA

Tryouts

Practices (once team selected)

Monday, March 19 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Thursday, March 22 - 7:30pm to 8:30pm

Monday, March 26 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

 

Players should plan to attend 3rd tryout date, however should be aware that it may not be needed.

 

 

 

First Weekend of Play - 

 

Bantam AA

Tryouts

Practices (once teams selected)

Wednesday, March 21 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Sunday, March 25- 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Wednesday, March 28 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

 

Players should plan to attend 3rd tryout date, however should be aware that it may not be needed.

 

 

First Weekend of Play

 

Midget AA

Tryouts

Practices (once teams selected)

Wednesday ,March 21 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Sunday, March 25 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Wednesday, March 28 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

 

Players should plan to attend 3rd tryout date, however should be aware that it may not be needed.

 

First Weekend of Play -

 

 

All players trying out should arrive 15 minutes prior to tryout time.

 

Teams will be selected based on skill level, sportsmanship and coachability.

 

All evaluators will be impartial and will be there for all  tryouts.

 

If you have a concern on your child's evaluation, the evaluation sheet may be requested to be viewed. Evaluations can only be released to the child's parent or current guardian.

 

Don't get discouraged, if you don't make the team this year GPMBA offers community 'A'  teams that all 'A'  players are available to try out for if there is enough interest. The community teams are still a competitive team that will be eligible for provincials.  

 

Equipment Required

 

Players are required to wear appropriate baseball uniform, including double ear flapped batting helmet with chin strap, clean indoor running shoes (absolutely no cleats), protective cup and baseball glove.

 

If you wish to bring your own bat, please be advised that you are responsible for it.

 

Water Bottle, sports drinks are  not allowed on the indoor turf.
